With 19 miles of untouched beaches, breathtaking scenery and tranquil waterways, Flagler County is a genuine Florida treasure. Nestled between the vigor of Daytona Beach and ancient charm of St. Augustine, Flagler County, it is an appealing escape from the chaos of modern life.

Flagler County was the second fastest growing county in the country between 2000 and 2006, growing by more than 67%.  It’s virtually all new and maintained beautifully.

You can enjoy activities like canoeing, kayaking, motorcycling, bird watching, hiking, biking,
fishing, sailing and boating. You can picnic or hike in one of 44 local parks and preserves. You can also hit the beach to swim, sunbathe and take a walk. There is a lot to do and see, but if you choose just to relax, there is no pressure to do otherwise. This is why locals love the active,
affordable lifestyle available here on the “quiet side of Florida.”

The cities of Flagler County offer a taste of old and new Florida and residents a quality of life that cannot be surpassed.

Palm Coast, a unique new city that lives in harmony with nature is a paradise set in a forest. Lush native trees and plants along the parkways are reminiscent of "old Florida". This charming city near the sea is known for its sparkling salt and fresh water canals, the beautiful Intracoastal canal, parks and tree canopied paths which beckon with every breeze.

Bunnell, the oldest city and the county seat, throws a rodeo that would make any roper proud. Flagler County's Cracker Day Rodeo in March, and its Fair and Youth Show in April, brings visitors and locals back to a taste of early hometown life.

Flagler Beach is home to over 5,411 residents. Since its incorporation in April, 1925, Flagler Beach has grown from a sleepy fishing village to a unique seaside community while still retaining much of its original charm.

Beverly Beach is a quaint community by the sea.

Marineland is home of the world's first oceanarium, and for more than sixty years has been home to over 70 different marine species.

Arts & Culture

Culture, music and fine arts are prevalent on Flagler's diverse calendar of Florida community events.  From the big stage shows at the Flagler Auditorium and intimate productions at Flagler Playhouse, to outdoor concerts and local art festivals and more, there is plenty to experience. Visit the websites below to learn more.

Parks & Recreation

Steeped in a rich history, there are corners of Flagler County where it seems that time is forgotten. Slow moving creeks shaded in a canopy of trees, salt marshes harboring birds and sea life and beaches where you can still find solitude, all preserved in county parks. Tucked between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, Flagler County was passed by in the rush to develop Florida. For most of the people who live here, the county is a haven from the pressures of the world. Graced with three state parks and voters willing to support the purchase of parklands, the county is in the process of preserving a glimpse of Florida many other counties have lost.

Whether it’s finding quiet solace within the nature preserves, re-energizing while participating in a favorite leisure activity, or enjoying the company of family and friends, Flagler County offers unsurpassed recreational opportunities for citizens and visitors alike.

All Flagler County Parks and Recreation facilities offer free admission and are maintained by Flagler County’s Parks and Recreation staff.

The County is home to three fabulous State Parks including Bulow Plantation State Park.  In 1836, the Second Seminole War swept away the prosperous Bulow Plantation where the Bulow family grew sugar cane, cotton, rice, and indigo. Ruins of the former plantation-a sugar mill, a unique spring house, several wells, and the crumbling foundations of the plantation house and slave cabins-show how volatile the Florida frontier was in the early 19th century. Today, a scenic walking trail leads visitors to the sugar mill ruins, listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The park has picnic facilities and an interpretive center that tells the plantation's history. A boat ramp provides access for canoes and small powerboats to scenic Bulow Creek, a designated state canoe trail. Anglers can fish from the dock or a boat.
